Cook Medical will move its Winston-Salem operations to the former Reynolds cigarette manufacturing plant, Whitaker Park. Cook Medical, a medical-device manufacturer with 650 employees will move into about half of the facility 1.7 million sq ft by early 2022. When Reynolds opened Whitaker Park in 1961, it was considered the world’s largest and most modern cigarette manufacturing plant. In today’s dollars, the plant would have cost $270.2 million to build.
