Randolph County planning board officials Tuesday evening unanimously approved rezoning 370 acres around the Triad megasite from agricultural to heavy industrial, a move that will bring the project’s total acreage to about 1,900. With the rezoning approved, local officials are focused on environmental permitting work involving Duke Energy and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.
